Comic

The Radio’s Playing All The Usual

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Wow.  I’d forgotten how nice it is to draw TraGic. From time to time I did do a larger than 3 panel comic, so that was fine, but it felt well weird putting the Dead Ends Side Credits™ onto it.  The strip itself is based on a true realisation; I am out of the loop. Now, granted, since I first started listening I’ve never made the effort to discover new music, or keep my finger on the pulse.  But I did hear the odd new thing I liked, and so I bought it.

I then got a job at HMV and I had no choice but to listen to new music - and I loved it.  I downloaded tens of albums a week, sometimes more, and loved every second.  And yes, it turned me into more of a snob, as for every good album there are at least 400 shite ones pumped out by the music business.

But since I left that place, I’m back to normal; I’ve not heard new music in ages - I don’t listen to the radio or watch much TV, and listen to what I like.  I was sat in McDonald’s when I heard the Nutini/Maroon 5 song. I believe it was Nutini, but I have no definite idea.  What I’m trying to get at is that a lot of new music sounds exactly the fucking same.

See you tomorrow!

Stumble it!

    That is so very true.
    And it’s sad really.
I like the tragic characters =)

:) Me too! I need to use them more. I’m currently listening to The Cure, which ain’t new music. I love it.
