…of life? To be brutally honest, I really don’t hold out much hope for Mac getting his job back. I mean, seriously. Mr Styx seems a nemesis you just can’t beat. On saying that, surely there are other jobs in Danchester. He doesn’t have to keep begging and pleading to the Venkman National Bank every time he loses his job. If it were me, I’d cut my losses and start afresh. He’d hate to admit it, but I reckon Mac really does enjoy his job there. Strange boy.

People using ironic and/or irreverent humour can fuck right off. You’re pretentious, an idiot, and probably a Mighty Boosh fan, and as such you ain’t no friend of mine.

On saying that, I have been guilty myself. On Monday, a shop clerk eyeballing my ID noticed the foreign part of my real surname (Kubala), and asked me how to pronounce it. I told him it was only pronounceable using a series of clicks. He looked at me as if astounded before realising it was a joke. I took pity and told him. But by God I felt well superior, and chortled. I guess in this example I am the Blue Haired Idiot. Who knew?

Oh look, it’s that date again.

I wrote this strip as I was doing it. I had literally already drawn the first two panels before I worked out the punchline. I like that kinda thing. And heck, it’s one of the only 2 to be uploaded on time. How cool is this shit? And don’t worry, I’m sure Coop’ll figure it out.

Plus, I really want his t-shirt.

So this one’s late as well, but surely you can appreciate why! Who the fuck thought floorboards were a good idea obviously didn’t consider the cartoonist.

Claire’s profession for about a year now has been “blogger.” Her writing style and sarcastic wit earned her some notoriety, and she makes over £1000 a month in advertising revenue alone. It transpires that someone’s realised the potential of such a thing in book form, and here goes. That was just to explain exactly how Claire can afford to buy a fucking factory. I assume she got a massive advance from the publishers.

See you tomorrow for the final of this week’s comeback marathon. I don’t know about you, but I’m fucking knackered. And I’ve got to work all fucking weekend at my actual job. Consider yourselves lucky!

I find that the best way of marking Dead Ends’ 70th strip is to delay its launch, which is just so in keeping with my previous comic behaviour. That and I fell asleep whilst drawing it and woke up too late to finish it this morning. Whoops.

I particularly like this one because of the big budget light effects in each panel. It’s CGI, you know, simulating funky club lighting. I think it works so much that I felt an explanation would be necessary.

My original plan was just an all out parody of this little bastard. I then decided a sarcastic wit to match Mac’s would be far more suited. I like this John Styx character though, I have to say. I might play around with him. Mac needs a nemesis, surely. Plus, the way this strip ends, it’s unclear as to whether or not Mac’s been fired. Even Mac seems unsure.

I’m really quite enjoying life right now. How weird is that?

Chinese Democracy

I compare this comic to the much awaited Guns ‘n’ Roses album for three reasons. One, this was a one man show. Two, I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting for what seems like years. Three… well, what an anticlimax. Incidentally, for those who are reading the archives in the future, there has been a real absence of just over a month between the previous comic and this one. Shit, I let this one go.

I’ve done things a little differently, other than the looks of the characters. Bit more detail on the mouths, bit of an outline to the characters. I’m sure I’ll forget that their skintone is down to their tan from their holiday and thus Mac will end up looking like a cheesy porn star for the life of the comic. I’ll have to remember and reduce their tans gradually. That will annoy.

Dead Ends is running for 5 days this week! I hope you enjoy it coming back. I’m going to write a blogpost specifically about the comic and trying to justify closing it down for so damn long, so keep your eyes on the sidebar Diary notificator.
